Our staff is truly amazing. They have the knowledge, skill and patience to care for people who are challenged by dementia, and they have the energy and technological systems to do it every day. Plus, they have that special something that comes from deep inside oneself, the combination of drive, compassion and courage that allows them to "cheerfully" assist someone whose memory is flickering and/or fading...even when their own heart is breaking.

Philip Smith joined Autumn Years at La Habra in February of 2007, and currently has four years of experience in Assisted Living. What attracted Philip the most to this field was the ability to make a positive impact in the quality of life for seniors. “Each moment that I spend with a senior, helps to remind me why I entered this line of work.” Working closely with seniors and seeing the difference he can make in their lives keeps Philip grounded. Drawing upon his fifteen years of experience in the Hotel and Restaurant industry, Philip especially enjoys the service aspect of Assisted Living.
In his free time, Philip enjoys spending quality time with his family, friends, and dog.
